Innovations in Home Infusion: What Makes Naven Health Next-Level
Back to All Naven Health NewsWhat is home infusion?
Home infusion is the process of administering a medication through a needle or catheter in a location other than a hospital or clinic, such as the patient’s home. Infusion services provided outside of a medical facility allow a patient more flexibility to continue with their normal activities, such as work, school, and hobbies while continuing their therapy. Home infusion is a safe and effective alternative to inpatient care to treat a variety of disease states.
Why are infusions performed at the patient’s home?
For patients that require long-term treatment, inpatient care is not only extremely expensive, but it also prevents the individual from continuing their everyday life. There have been advances in home infusion technology that allow safe and effective administration of infusion therapies in the patient’s home that allows a comprehensive medical therapy that is much less costly compared to inpatient treatment in a hospital or clinic. For many individuals, receiving treatment at their home is preferable to inpatient care.
What diseases can be treated with home infusion?
Home infusion services can treat a broad range of disease states, both acute and chronic. Below are some examples of therapy segments that Naven Health treats:
